Originally from New York, pianist Maura Glennon began her studies at the age of 10 and was chosen as winner of the Florida Orchestra Concerto Competition at age 16. She has since performed around the world as a recitalist, soloist with orchestra, and collaborative artist in chamber works and art song repertoire.

In addition to performances in Weill Recital Hall, the Prague Bertramka Museum, the Antonín Dvořák Concert Hall in the Czech Republic, and the San Pedro Sula Binational Center in Honduras, Glennon has recently appeared in numerous recitals throughout New England. Recent collaborations include concerts with cellists Astrid Schween, Judith Serkin, and Matt Haimovitz, violinists Victor Romanul, Kathy Andrew, and Marcia Lehninger, clarinetists Michael Sussman and James Hinson, and the Apple Hill String Quartet in New York, Boston, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

Glennon is currently Professor of Music at Keene State College in New Hampshire and is a faculty artist at the Apple Hill Center for Chamber Music Summer Chamber Music Workshops. The recipient of numerous honors and awards, including top prizes in the Florida Chopin Competition, the MTNA Collegiate Chamber Music Competition, the Carmel Chamber Music Competition, and the Fischoff Chamber Music Competition, she is in demand as a teacher, adjudicator, and lecturer for workshops and master classes at conferences and schools throughout the United States.

She graduated with doctoral and master’s degrees in Piano Performance from Florida State University, where she studied with Carolyn Bridger, Timothy Hoekman, and Douglas Fischer. She also studied with Allison Nelson at the University of Tennessee at Martin, and in master classes with Martin Katz, Gerard Souzay, Marilyn Horne, Lorin Hollander, Earl Wild, Carlisle Floyd, Emma Kirkby, Paula Robison, and Sherrill Milnes.

Glennon lives in Northampton, MA, with her husband, photographer Justin Kimball, and their children, Zeke and Ellie.
