Dr. Armağan Gezici

Armağan Gezici, a native of Turkey, earned her BSc in economics and MSc in Science & Technology Policy Studies from Middle East Technical University (METU) in Turkey. Later she earned her MA and PhD in Economics from the University of Massachusetts (UMass), Amherst. She previously taught at UMass and Skidmore College and joined economics at Keene State in 2007.

Her teaching and research interests broadly fall into the areas of International Economics, Development Economics, Game Theory. During her sabbatical year in 2014-15, Dr Gezici conducted research in Turkey studying investment, export and R&D behavior of the non-financial companies. Her current research project focuses on the limitations of the Global Value Chain approach in the context of an financially dependent, semi-periphery country.
