Professional Interests: Generalized notions of “closeness” (distances and neighborhoods) studied via concepts and methods of set-theoretic topology. Mathematical proof as it pertains to the undergraduate mathematics curriculum. Undergraduate mathematics in general.
Professional Background: Served on the faculty of North Carolina Wesleyan College (1997–1999) before coming to KSC. Instructor for the University of New Hampshire’s Master of Science for Teachers of Mathematics program (1999–2006). Instructor for University of New Hampshire Upward Bound program (1985–1997).
Awards and Accolades: Appointed Director of North Carolina Wesleyan College’s Honors Program (October 1998). Outstanding Graduate Teaching Assistant Award (1992), College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, University of New Hampshire. University of New Hampshire Presidential Scholar (1987 – cumulative GPA at graduation, 4.0).
