Funding for the following categories of grants or scholarships is budgeted yearly by authority of the Board of Trustees of the University System of New Hampshire. First-year student scholarships are available to certain students based on their academic performance and supporting materials. Awards are determined from a review of the admissions application; students do not need to fill out a separate application. Please note that Admissions recalculates grade point average for all awards. These scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis so students are encouraged to apply for admission early.
These awards are renewable for up to four years (eight semesters) by maintaining the required grade point average. Please note that there is a limited number of these awards, and, therefore, not all students who meet these criteria are awarded one of these scholarships. Other material in a student's admission packet may be used to determine these awards. President's Scholarships require a cumulative grade point average of at least 3.0 for renewal. Other awards listed above require a cumulative grade point average of at least 2.5 for renewal. Academic Talent Grants-In-Aid. Grant assistance may be available if you have exceptional performing, artistic, or other academic talent. Recipients are selected by faculty committees within the Arts and Humanities (in disciplines of art, theater, and music only),
Sciences and Social Sciences,
and Professional & Graduate Studies Divisions. Grants are for $2,800 each and are automatically renewable provided the awardees have completed 24 credit hours of study in the previous academic year and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better. There are 24 such $2,800 grants available. Other Awards ACE - Affordable College Effort Grant. A grant for New Hampshire freshmen beginning 2006-07 whose EFC is $0-$1,000 as calculated by the completion of the FAFSA by March 1. Funds are to be used to assist in paying direct costs billed by Keene State College. For 2008-09, students who began 2007-08 may be eligible for renewal if the FAFSA is filed by March 1 and the EFC continues to be $0-$1,000. The UNIQUE 529 College Savings Plan. The UNIQUE College savings plan is sponsored by the State of New Hampshire and managed by Fidelity Investments. A 529 College Savings Plan is a flexible and federal income tax-advantaged way to invest for college. Named after the federal Internal Revenue Code Section 529 that created them, 529 Plans were specifically designed to help individuals save for college. Each 529 Plan is state-sponsored and managed by a financial services company. Educational Benefits for University System of New Hampshire Employees. Full-time contract employees and their spouses and/or dependent child(ren) may enroll in any of the regular credit courses at Keene State College, Granite State College, Plymouth State University, or the University of New Hampshire (both Durham and Manchester) and receive a tuition benefit. This benefit does not apply to non-credit courses or institutes. Employees should consult appropriate campus personnel offices for further information. Keene State College Scholarships. Awarded if you qualify on the basis of need. Eligibility is determined through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) analysis. |
