Alternative Funding

Listed below are various types of educational assistance available through the state of New Hampshire or through the federal government for special categories of students. The College does not administer these funds, but eligible students may use them to meet educational costs at Keene State College.

Part-Time Off-Campus Employment (online listing)
Academic and Career Advising works closely with area businesses to develop part-time employment opportunities to help students meet educational expenses. The Job Developer is available to help you locate employment that meets your needs and time schedules, and, when possible, your career interests. In addition to part-time positions, summer, seasonal, and temporary employment listings are also provided. For assistance with part-time, off-campus employment, contact Academic and Career Advising.

Cooperative Education (online listing)
An opportunity to integrate classroom learning through paid on-the-job training is provided through Keene State College's Cooperative Education Program. This program allows you to work in your chosen field through internships or part- or full-time cooperative education employment arranged by or through Academic and Career Advising. If you are interested in exploring the possibility of a co-op experience, contact Academic and Career Advising.

ROTC
Air Force ROTC
Army ROTC

Non-College Scholarships/Loans
In many communities, scholarships and loans are available locally, particularly for incoming freshmen. Assistance may also be available through major nationwide competitions. School principals and guidance counselors have information about these sources of assistance, which normally may be used at any institution recipients wish to attend. Most public libraries have information about funding sources for higher education. Free scholarship search services are also available online, however, we strongly urge caution about any service that charges a fee for this service.

NH National Guard Educational Benefits & Tuition Waiver Program
Keene State College students who are serving in the NH Army National Guard may qualify for Federal Tuition Assistance, National Guard Scholarships and a Tuition Waiver of all or a portion of tuition charges through this program. Guard members should contact their commanding officer/unit administrator or NHARNG Education Services Officer for more details about this program or to obtain a TAG form 621-1, NHARNG Tuition Waiver Application. This program is administered by Student Financial Services in conjunction with the NH Army National Guard. Students must apply for federal student aid and meet the March 1 FAFSA priority deadline to qualify for this program. Out-of-state students who are active members of the NH Army National Guard may also qualify for in-state tuition rates through this program.
For more information, contact the Army National Guard at 1-800-GO-GUARD.

National Service Awards
Students who are members of AmeriCorps may use funds earned through this program to pay for tuition and other education-related charges at Keene State College. Completed payment vouchers for this program should be submitted to Student Financial Services as soon as possible to ensure timely payment.
