"There is a critical shortage of science and math teachers in the United States,"
says Sally Jean, assistant professor of chemistry and science education at Keene State. The shortage is severe in New Hampshire schools, where many science and math teachers are teaching outside of their specialty. "We need the good teachers - those who are strong in content and in pedagogy."

Faculty Research and Scholarship
"It's all about the students," says Dr. Jerry Jasinski, professor of chemistry, referring to his teaching and research philosophy. Last May, Jerry became the first recipient of the KSC Award for Faculty Distinction in Research and Scholarship. Jerry says the award is both an honor and justification for his approach to scholarship and teaching.
