Kent Drake-Deese,
Director of Residential Life and Housing Services

Jana Jacobson,
Assistant Director for Residential Programs

  • Education: BA from University of Massachusetts Amherst, Psychology, MA from New York University - Individualized Study focused in Educational Administration
  • Joined KSC Res Life team: 2007
  • Job Responsibilities: Jana oversees the residential program with a primary focus on residential education. She is responsible for the direct supervision of the Residence Directors, indirect supervision of the Resident Assistant staff, and the departmental focus on student and staff development.
  • Fun Fact: Jana has visited 13 countries in Europe and loves to travel.

Jim Carley,
Associate Director for Housing Facilities & Operations

  • Education: BS from Penn State - Human Development, MEd Penn State - Counselor Education/Student Personnel Administration
  • Joined KSC Res Life team: 1990
  • Job Responsibilities: Jim oversees the facilities, maintenance, and custodial operations for all of the residential living areas on campus, totaling over 700,000 square feet of space. He is also responsible for budget development and management, supervising the summer conference program, maintaining the residential life web page and managing the vendor contracts for the department.
  • Fun Fact: When he retires, Jim would like to settle in Ireland.

Mandy Martin,
Assistant Director for Housing Operations

  • Education: BA in Sociology from College of Wooster (Wooster, Ohio), EdM from Boston University in Policy, Planning and Administration with a concentration in Higher Education Administration
  • Joined KSC Res Life team: 2008
  • Job Responsibilities: First year room assignments, returning student room selection, disability accommodations, room changes
  • Fun Fact: An avid Red Sox fan, Mandy’s dream vacation is to visit every baseball park in the United States
