Residence Hall Organization
Keene State College recognizes the need for a close association and sense of community among those who reside on campus. In order to provide a greater sense of openness, responsibility, and harmony between residents and the total college community, the Residence Hall Organization (RHO) was established. The RHO is comprised of representatives from each residence area of campus. Every Residence Hall elects one representative per every 150 people living in an area, resulting in each area having two RHO representatives (except the Owl's Nests, which have three).
The RHO was developed to enhance the programming efforts of the RA and RD staffs by providing social and educational opportunities both within the residence halls and on the campus as a whole. The campus-wide RHO has elected officers who run bi-weekly meetings with all the representatives. These meetings are informative and planning times. The group brainstorms possible programming ideas, discusses issues in the residence halls, and gathers information about what students want to see happen.

After attending the conferences, RHO representatives return to their campus with many ideas, an inspired and energetic attitude and a focused effort on helping campus residents get the most out of their college experience. Keene State College is affiliated with the NEACURH (Northeast Association of College and University Residence Halls), and therefore has the opportunity to attend a local fall regional conference. In addition, representatives could attend the national NACURH conference which usually takes place in the spring, once schools and residence halls have closed for the semester.
