The following information was sent to on-campus students and parents in early February:
Dear Keene State College Student and Family:
On behalf of all of the staff here in the Office of Residential Life and Housing Services, we hope you had an enjoyable holiday season and 2008 proves to be a happy new year for you and your family. We would like to bring to your attention the fact that the demand for on campus housing is at an all time high. We simply do not have the ability to be flexible, and ask for your strictest adherence to the following deadlines and academic/financial eligibility requirements:
- Only students who currently live in on-campus housing are eligible to apply for 2008-2009 on-campus housing.
- A non-refundable $300 housing deposit must be paid exclusively via our online process from March 3, 2008 at 9:00 a.m. through March 6, 2008 at 4:00 p.m. Housing deposits will not be accepted via Quick Pay, telephone, in person or by U.S. mail. Students will receive instructions regarding the payment process on February 18, 2008 via their KSC mailcruiser email accounts.
Students who miss the housing deposit deadline but would still like to apply to live on campus can submit a Housing Waitlist Application Form available at www.keene.edu/reslife/housing. We will contact you via your mailcruiser account regarding potential housing availability no later than May 16, 2008…While we know you may be anxious to call, we will not have the information required to accurately respond to your questions before that time.
- A student must have no outstanding charges by February 27, 2008 to place a housing deposit the week of March 3, 2008. Please contact the Student Financial Services Office in Elliot Hall if there are questions concerning your account. If the student account is cleared after February 27, the student will be considered for waitlist status only, and will not receive a lottery number for the room selection process.
- Students must be registered for a minimum of 12 credits for the fall 2008 semester by April 11, 2008 to participate in the housing selection process. Please keep in mind that on-campus housing is available for full-time students only.
Throughout the course of housing related events that culminate over the next few months, you will be updated via your mailcruiser account, as well as our website KSC Reslife. We encourage you to review details thoroughly to ensure that you are informed and educated about the housing process and timelines. If you have any questions at any time, please contact your RD, send an e-mail to Residential Life at Res Life E-mail or call us at 603-358-2339. It is our goal to ensure that Residential Life staff provide you with details and support that will help you to remain informed throughout the process.
While the information contained in this letter may not guarantee you a happy new year, it may help you avoid being ineligible to apply for on campus housing for the 2008-2009 academic year.
