KEENE, N.H. 6/16/04 - These are among accomplishments of Keene State College Professional and Graduate Studies faculty since the winter:

Raymond Jobin, education instructor, presented a paper at the 88th Annual Meeting of the National Council for Geographic Education, held in Salt Lake City. His paper, "Feed It to the Worms: A Curriculum Guide," outlined a curriculum that teaches students to maintain a composting bin to practice stewardship, allowing teachers to meet national standards in geography, math, and science.

Debbie Black, associate professor of ESEC, presented "Professional Development: Teaching, Learning, and Learning to Teach Toward Social Justice" at the National Association for Multicultural Education 13th Annual International Conference in Seattle, Wash.

Carime Bersh, assistant professor of education, presented "Female Images in Caldecott Award Books: Gender Readings through Visual Text" at the National Reading Conference's 53rd Annual Meeting in Scottsdale, Ariz.

Len Fleischer, assistant professor of education, presented "Crisis as Passage: Supporting Counselors in Challenging Times" at the North Atlantic Regional Association for Counselor Education and Supervision annual conference in Canandaigua, N.Y.
