KEENE, N.H. 10/5/05 - Keene State College is one of 224 select colleges and universities in the Northeast that The Princeton Review profiles in the 2006 edition of its book The Best Northeastern Colleges.

In its two-page review of the College, The Princeton Review reports students as saying that "there's a fine and challenging education to be had" at Keene State. Students say, the PR notes, that Keene State is "geared toward education majors, that the business program is strong, and that the sciences benefit from a gorgeous science center. Classes are generally small, which allows for better classroom discussions."

Student life also featured in the review, with students noting, "The greatest strengths of KSC are its size and the ease that students can get around and do things both on campus and in the city." The College was also regarded as a place that looked for reasons to admit students, rather than turn them away.

The institutions reviewed in the book are chosen based on data collected by the PR, including institutional research and student surveys. The book includes colleges from the District of Columbia, Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.
