Welcome to the Department of Physics at Keene State College. Our program has as its main mission the teaching of physics (including Astronomy and Meteorology) to the broad range of students here at Keene State. This includes a program for dual majors of Mathematics/Physics & Chemistry/Physics, our Engineering Transfer Program and the Physics Minor in which we provide a solid foundation to our students in the basic areas of physics, both experimental and theoretical.
We are committed to physics as a liberal arts subject, stressing the historical, philosophical and conceptual framework from which the central concepts of modern-day physics arises, while providing students with a strong technological and mathematical foundation on which they can build future learning.
The Department is located on the 3rd floor of The David F. Putnam Science Center (Rooms 375 to 381) off of Winchester Street in Keene, NH. We can be contacted through our Administrative Assistant, Sharon Meany, at (603) 358-2085 or you may reach us by sending an e-mail to the Physics Chair, Frederick Wolf (fwolf@keene.edu).
