What is the Registrar's Office responsible for?
The Registrar’s Office maintains and verifies academic records for all students and issues transcripts for students taking credit courses at KSC. The office is responsible for: course registration, Web Advisor, enrollment verification, grade reports, academic degree audits, transcripts, calculating GPAs, final exam schedules and more.
What is FERPA?
The Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) protects the privacy of student education records and grants students certain rights regarding the records. Parents are often surprised to learn that FERPA bars parent’s access to their child’s educational records without their child’s consent.
However, parents of dependent (Internal Revenue Code) students may receive a copy of the student's semester grade report by completing and submitting a Parental Grade Report form found as a link on the Registrar’s office forms page.
The Registrar's Office keeps that consent on file and it remains in effect until the Office is notified, the student leaves the College or graduates from the College.
