Lesson Introduction:
Particular characteristics are often associated with a defined group of people.

Objective/Purpose:
-to explore and discover characteristics associated with groups of people in the local community, state, region, country, continent

Materials: none

Procedure:Option I
1. Make a list of nationalities and research a food, sport, language, festival, costume or music associated with each one.

Option II
1. Have students conduct research by interviewing family members and adult friends what characteristics they think of when they hear .............(group name).
2. Have them share their findings.
3. What discoveries did they make?

Evaluation/Assessment:
What characteristics are associated with the class and the school?
