Students will use their experiences and knowledge in
order to organize the means by which people, products,
and ideas travel.
1)Brainstorm a list of the types of transportation used
today. Record the list on chart paper.
2)Brainstorm a list of products, people, and ideas that are transported through the means previously identified.
3)Classify what is transported by the means of transportation.
4)Using the means of transportation as the roman numerals for an outline, begin constructing an outline. The teacher may wish to model the first section for the students.
Example as suggested by a fourth grade class:
