Option II - drawing paper
1. Walk around outside observing areas around the school:
playground, parking lot, etc.
2. Back in the classroom choose two areas that are used
during the fall, winter and spring.
3. Discuss how the use of these two areas might change
according to the seasons.
Option II
1. Walk around outside the school, observing not just
the playground but the areas immediately surrounding
the school property (the school neighborhood)
2. Have some students sit facing 4 different directions
(N,S,E,W) and draw in detail all of the physical and
human features they see.
3. Display results by facing them in the proper direction
around a map of the school.
Are the students aware of both physical and human features
surrounding the school?
