Staff Complete Lean Black Belt Training

From Josh Jarvis, Human Resources:

Three Keene State employees recently completed the third, and highest, level of certification for Lean continuous process improvement. Jen Drake-Deese (Academic and Career Advising), Michelle Fuller (Academic Affairs), and Josh Jarvis (Human Resources) graduated on June 2 from the Lean Black Belt course offered through the State of NH Bureau of Education and Training. This seven-month-long program contained theory and tools for how to implement and sustain Lean within an organization. As part of this program, Jen, Michelle, and Josh each completed a capstone project that served to improve a campus process. Those projects were related to form processing for independent study, student internships, and faculty sabbatical applications.

Bringing Lean to Keene State College will empower employees, at all levels, to creatively improve business processes in a collaborative way. It’s a refreshing approach to address the current financial situation the college is experiencing. Be on the lookout for a new Lean at Keene website expected to launch this summer!
