Off-Campus Students Get Warm Welcome

From Robin Picard, coordinator of community and student relations:

Off-campus students received a personal welcome with a Move-In Kit this year! Approximately 280 student units were given a Move-In Kit that included a welcome letter from Mayor Kendall Lane and KSC President Anne Huot, informational brochures on topics such as tenant-landlord relationships, city ordinances, the Good Neighbor Campaign, alcohol use and responsible hosting, violence prevention, magnets with emergency numbers and contact information for the City and College, food items donated by CNS, Quit Smoking magnets donated by Cheshire Wellness Program, and a bottle of bubbles. The distribution of the Move-In Kits offered city and College personnel an opportunity to meet with students and talk to them about being a good neighbor. For the first time, neighborhood meet and greet events were held in the Winchester Street and Emerald Court areas. The idea may expand into other areas to include more of our local neighbors.

Many thanks to all those who donated items and their time!
