KSC Team Participates in Statewide SART Summit

Keene State College staff members traveled to Concord on April 21 to participate in the annual statewide Sexual Assault Resource Team (SART) summit. Dr. Amanda Guthorn, Director of Campus Safety, Stuart Mitchell, Associate Director of Campus Safety, Jeff Maher, Title IX Coordinator, Matt Salter, Director of Student Conduct, and Cory Davis, Coordinator of Student Conduct, participated in the day-long summit which included presentations “Raped or ‘Seduced’? How Language Helps Shape Our Response to Sexual Violence” and “Answering the Hard Questions About Sexual Violence,” presented by Claudia Bayliff, a nationally recognized expert, attorney, and educator specializing in sexual violence.

Approximately 20 SARTs from across the state attended. Guthorn and Maher are active members of the Cheshire County SART which also includes representatives of local law enforcement and social service agencies. The program concluded with each team sharing their successes and challenges and creating a plan for next steps and goals for the coming year. The Statewide Summit was sponsored by the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office and facilitated by Kathy Kimball, the state SART Coordinator.
