From Sander Lee, Communication and Philosophy:

The Northern New England Philosophy Association invites proposals for our annual conference on the campus of Keene State College in New Hampshire, October 14-15, 2016.

Papers may be on any topic, but should be limited to 25 minutes reading time. Send abstracts (500-750 words) and/or papers (suitable for 25 minute presentations) by August 15, 2016 to: Sander Lee, slee@keene.edu, Subject: NNEPA submission

Our distinguished keynote speaker will be Laurence Thomas, Professor of Philosophy and Political Science of the Maxwell School at Syracuse University. He is the author or editor of many books including Social Philosophy (Blackwell Publishers, 2007), The Family and the Political Self (Cambridge Univ Press, 2006), Human Rights and Sexual Orientation, with Michael Levin (Rowman and Littlefield, 1999) and Vessels of Evil: American Slavery and the Holocaust (Temple University Press, 1993). He is also the author of more than 100 articles including “Forgiving the Unforgivable,” which appeared in Moral Philosophy and the Holocaust (edited by Eve Garrard and Geoffrey Scarre), “Group Autonomy and Narrative Identity” which appeared in Blacks and Jews (edited by Paul Berman) and “Moral Deference” which appeared in Theorizing Multiculturalism (edited by Cynthia Willet).

Papers dealing with any of the work of Professor Thomas are especially welcome, and will be considered for a possible Saturday morning plenary session devoted to his work.

Participants are encouraged to submit early. Early submissions are welcome, and may lead to earlier decision. In conjunction with its annual conference, the Northern New England Philosophical Association will host a session for undergraduates to share their work in a collaborative environment. Undergraduate and graduate student presenters do not have to pay the conference fee. Undergraduates should submit complete papers of no more than 2500 words by September 1, 2016 to: Sander Lee, slee@keene.edu, Subject: NNEPA Undergrad submission
