Center for Engagement, Learning, and Teaching’s Updated Websites

From Sue Castriotta, CELT:

The Center for Engagement, Learning, and Teaching is pleased to announce its updated websites. Each unit within CELT (Academic Technology, Instructional Consulting, and Service Learning and Internships) has an individual updated site and there is a new page for CELT as well. The CELT website includes information about CELT, new faculty orientation, adjunct faculty grant materials, and an up-to-the-minute CELT calendar along with registration information.

A collection of resources on a variety of topics related to course design and delivery, including resources related to recent workshops, is being developed on the Instructional Consulting site. Contact Chris Odato with suggestions if you have a topic that you would like to see covered or a resource to recommend.

Would you like to add service learning courses or internships into your program? Karen Balnis, the Service Learning and Internship Coordinator, supports faculty, connects with community organizations and businesses, and assists with the paperwork needed to set up experiential education placements for credit. Advising time is here. Internship, practicum, and field experience paperwork shouldn’t be a barrier to faculty who want to recommend placement opportunities for students. New, condensed forms are posted on our webpage, along with guidance for faculty, students, and community partners.

Academic Technology is resurrecting our blog that reviews technologies for teaching and learning. Some of the more popular posts are Copyright and Fair Use in Academia, a presentation by AT Librarian Irene McGarrity, and Compound Time, a post on Excel, grading and time by Matthew Ragan. This week’s post looks at options for digitally scheduling time slots with students.
