Leadership Monadnock Accepting Applications

From the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce:

The Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce has opened the application period for its 2015-2016 Leadership Monadnock program. This program, founded in 1997, is a nine-month exploration of issues affecting the Monadnock Region, its businesses and its residents. Leadership Monadnock is the cornerstone of the Chamber’s commitment to develop community leaders for the 21st century.

This year’s Leadership Monadnock participants will attend day-long sessions the first Wednesday of each month from October to June. Each session day is focused on specific subject matter designed to inform participants about such topics as healthcare; education; criminal justice and public safety; politics and government; and broader economic development issues.

The variety of issues explored help participants better understand the complexities of sometimes competing issues and interests in our region. The program helps participants to understand, in depth, their role in helping the Monadnock Region to solve some of the many challenges we face in making our region an even better place to visit, learn, work and play. The program is an effective professional development opportunity for participants, and can help employers demonstrate a sustainable commitment to civic engagement.

There are more than 300 graduates of Leadership Monadnock who are making a difference in our communities. They are willing to share their experience with anyone interested in learning more about the program. Please contact Susan Newcomer at the Greater Keene Chamber of Commerce: snewcomer@keenechamber.com or 603-352-1303. The application deadline is September 18, 2015.

The cost of the program is $850. Partial scholarships may be available for a limited number of participants. To download an application online click here or email the Chamber at info@keenechamber.com to request an application.
