Professional Activities

Alison Pantesco, Adjunct Professor of German, has received news that her workshop presentation at the Northeast Conference on the Teaching of Foreign Languages, “Active Learning with Music,” has been selected as the “Best of NECTFL 2015.” NECTFL is the largest and second-oldest multi-language association in the country, with 40 states and 10 countries. About 1,500 educators attend its annual conference, offering 200 sessions and workshops. Pantesco has also received a $500 stipend for the national meeting of the American Council for Teachers of Foreign Languages, where she will co-chair the session “Learning and Teaching German through Drama and Music.” The ACTFL conference will be held in San Diego in November 2015.

Shari Bemis received a $25,000 grant from The Teagle Foundation. This award provides funds for Keene State College, along with partner institutions Fort Lewis College, Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts, and the University of North Carolina-Asheville to explore ways of integrating the humanities and social sciences into STEM professional areas.
