Alyssa specializes in Assistive Technology in higher education and Assistive Technology advocacy for students transitioning into college. Along with Lisa David (Assistant Director), she developed KSC’s ‘AT Web Resource’, a website specifically designed to give high school/college students a place to start with free/low cost AT. This website has become an effective resource for institutions allowing students transitioning into college to hit the ground running with AT.
Her interest in AT sparked from her love for technology combined with her personal experiences with the ODS at KSC. Having a learning disability herself and not discovering AT until her senior year, she wanted to help expose students to AT early on and played a crucial role in the implementation of AT when she came on board as the AT Specialist. Alyssa presents on assistive technology locally (NH Department of Education, New England Educational Opportunity Association, Monadnock Center for Successful Transitions) and nationally (ATiA Orlando Conference, CSUN International Technology and Persons with Disabilities Conference).
Her other responsibilities at Keene State include serving as an Adjunct Instructor teaching IQL Quantitative Reasoning, ISCS Programming Foundations I and ISCS Website Design.
Alyssa earned her B.S. in Computer Science and a BA in Mathematics from Keene State College. She also holds a Graduate Certificate in Assistive Technology from University of New Hampshire.
