Kansai Gaidai University

    • Kansai Gaidai University has an exchange relationship with Keene State College and welcomes over 700 international students annually. Through their Asian Studies Program at Kansai Gaidai University, students with none to near fluent Japanese can study for a semester or year. In addition to a required 5-credit Spoken Japanese course, students can select from a wide range of courses in English including economics, business, history, sociology, anthropology, religion, art and film studies as well as additional Japanese language courses.   • Location

    • Kansai Gaidai University is located in the city of Hirakata (410,000 population) in Osaka prefecture – midway between Osaka, Japan's second largest metropolis, and Kyoto, the ancient capital of Japan. Kansai Gaidai University has approximately 10,000 undergraduate students. Founded in 1945 as a small language school, it was created amid the smoldering ruins of post-War Japan with the purpose of fostering internationalization among the students.
