GEO's Mission
In support of Keene State College's mission to "prepare promising students to think critically and creatively, to engage in active citizenship, and to pursue meaningful work," the Global Education Office (GEO) strives to create and support academic opportunities for KSC faculty and students to undertake engaged learning in global settings that will help them to gain new perspectives in their fields of study, develop intercultural competencies and communication skills, learn to engage with situations and questions that challenge their own assumptions and values, develop the ability to articulate their cultural experience and learn about and from the environments in which they live and study.
Our vision is that the KSC community (students, faculty and staff) will have enhanced academic learning; greater professional preparation and expertise; a broader world view that includes a richer understanding of global diversity and multiculturalism as well as respect, value, and appreciate differences; and be more willing to serve wherever they may be as a result of the transformative educational experiences that GEO facilitates. We work with outgoing KSC students, incoming international exchange students and faculty-led programs.
