These are the winning photographs from our fall 2008 National/International Exchange Center photo contest. Our office holds this contest each semester to give students who have just returned from their study away destinations a chance to share their experience with the campus community.

The contest consists of four categories: Academics, Landscape, KSC Students Away, and Culture. Cash prizes of $50 are awarded to the category winners and a $100 cash prize goes to the grand prize winner.

Photos are displayed and voted on in the Lloyd P. Young Student Center first floor. Voting is open to anyone with or without KSC affiliation and lasts for a week before the votes are tallied and posted. After the contest the photos are placed in a long term display case on the Student Center third floor.

Grand Prize and winner of $100 is Carleen Ryan with her photo "Venice" in the Landscape/Scenery category.

Landscape/Scenery winner $50 is Patricia DaSilva with "Sun in Santorini." Patricia studied in Seville (Spain)

"'Sun in Santorini' - 05/23/08 was taken from Oia Castle, just before sunset, in the white washed village of Oia, on the island of Santorni in Greece."

Students Away winner $50 is Ketura Rich with "The Lone Sailboat." Ketura overlooks the "Bay of Plenty" while studying at Victoria University of Wellington.

"This photo was taken on a roadtrip on the North Island the first week I got to New Zealand. It is a day I will always remember, because I got to experience paradise."

Culture Category winner $50 is Patricia DaSilva with "Sahara Excursion."

"'Sahara Excursion' - 03/16/08 was taken during a 2 hour camel trek in the Sahara desert, in Morocco, on route to a desert oasis where we spent the day and night."

Academics Category winner $50 is Jessica Williams with "Keene State Students in the School Patio." The picture was taken at the Center for Cross-cultural study in Seville (Spain), where Jessica was studying. "Lourdes Ramirez came to visit the Keene State students that were studying abroad last spring. The picture was taken in the patio of our school (CC-CS Sevilla)."
