Mia Moravis (stage name for Cynthia Geary) ’81 has received the 2016 Bronze Global Music awards in two categories for her song “Shakespeare And Me.” Based on the Bard’s “Sonnet 147,” the song is one of four Celtic works on Moravis’ DUNOON EP (Gotham Records) and tells the tale of pure and innocent love corrupted by a malignant soul.

A three-time Emmy®-nominated director and producer, a Remi Award®-winning world music documentary filmmaker, and a 23-time ASCAP PLUS Songwriting Award recipient, Moravis is an executive producer of the A Rockin’ Midsummer Night’s Dream and You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown cast recordings (Broadway Records). She is also on the production team bringing Anastasia–The Musical to Broadway next spring, and she’s a featured Wonkybot Studios voice and recording artist in The Secret Diaries of Tara Tremendous podcasts, which are #1 in Kids & Family on iTunes.

She was on campus last March, performing in Light Up the Sky, Dan Patterson’s last play at Keene State. “It was a treasure—I waited 37 years to be directed by Dan Patterson (haha!),” Moravis said. “I’m thrilled to be a Keene State alumnus; KSC was and is very good to me, and I love my alma mater.”
