New Names for Journalism and Modern Languages Departments

Students returning to their studies in the Journalism and Modern Language departments this spring will find that the departments are now going by new names.

What was Journalism is now Journalism, Multimedia, Public Relations, and the former Modern Languages is now Modern Languages and Cultures. Both name changes reflect the departments’ broadening scope.

“Our department name can now reflect the myriad possibilities already offered in our courses and student activities,” said Dr. Rose Kundanis, Journalism, Multimedia, Public Relations chair. “Increasingly, our graduates are expected to produce and provide information across various media platforms and in various formats like news, public relations, and multimedia.”
