Keene State College Names Dr. Rebecca Lytle as Dean of Professional and Graduate Studies

Dr. Lytle Brings 26 Years of Experience in Education as Instructor and Administrator

Keene State College announces Dr. Rebecca Lytle as its new dean of Professional and Graduate Studies. Dr. Lytle brings 26 years of experience and leadership to her post at Keene State College. Most recently, Dr. Lytle served at California State University, Chico, as Professor of Kinesiology, and she coordinated the activities of the Adapted Physical Education Program and the Autism Clinic Sensory and Motor Program. She served as chair of the Department of Kinesiology from 2009 to 2012. In these roles, Dr. Lytle provided leadership in the areas of program review and credentialing, academic department oversight, recruitment of students, and budgeting, in addition to her responsibilities as a full professor. Dr. Lytle will begin to serve as Keene State College Dean of Professional and Graduate Studies on July 15, 2015.

“We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Rebecca Lytle to our college this summer. She brings the perfect combination of leadership and classroom experience to her new role as dean. I look forward to seeing her lead our Professional and Graduate Studies programs to even greater success in partnership with the incredible faculty and staff we have in place,” said Keene State College Provost, Dr. Walter Zakahi.

From 1992 to the present, Dr. Lytle served as an instructor in the Department of Kinesiology at California State University, Chico. During this time, she also served as a lecturer at Humboldt State University, and worked as a physical education specialist for the Colusa County Office of Education in California, focusing on special education programs.

“I am very impressed by the faculty and staff at Keene State College and am excited to join the leadership team,” said Dr. Lytle.

Dr. Lytle earned a BA and MA in Physical Education at California State University, Chico, and she earned a Doctorate of Philosophy from Oregon State University.
