The Monadnock Family Business Summit—open for business

Are you a member of a family business? Would you like to start one? Do you have ideas that might make it easier to operate a family business in the Monadnock region? On Friday, Jan. 23rd, from noon–4:30 in the Alumni Center’s Centennial Hall, KSC’s Department of Management, along with the Keene Sentinel, Business Monadnock, Electronic Imaging Materials, Pinney Plumbing and Heating, and People’s Linen are sponsoring the Monadnock Family Business Summit. This event will bring together a number of family business experts, including scholars, consultants, lawyers, accountants, and bankers, as well as experienced family business owners to discuss the strengths and challenges inherent to family business.

The seminar will offer you an awareness of the big (and small) issues that have brought down family businesses in the past, many ideas for strengthening and preparing a family business for the future, and a new support network for helping solve specific problems related to family business.

Dr. Michael R. Braun, an associate professor of management and the Poe Family Faculty Fellow at the University of Montana, will be the keynote speaker. He is North American editor for the Journal of Family Business Management and co-author of Mastering Strategy: Workshops for Business Success (2014).

Check out the Monadnock Family Business Summit page for more information, and to register. Students can attend free of charge by contacting Emily Porschitz, assistant professor, Dept. of Management.
