Public Invited to Attend Inauguration Ceremony and Academic Excellence Conference

Dr. Anne E. Huot will be inaugurated as tenth president of Keene State College on April 4, 2014. The inauguration will focus on the theme of achieving a shared vision for student success. The public is invited to attend the inauguration ceremony – for those who cannot attend in person, the ceremony will be streamed online for viewing. Just one day after this celebratory event, many Keene State College students will present their research to the public during Keene State’s 14th Annual Academic Excellence Conference.

When and where: Inauguration: Friday, April 4

The public is invited to attend the inaugural ceremony at 4pm in Spaulding Gymnasium, at Keene State College

About Keene State College President, Anne E. Huot, PhD

Dr. Anne E. Huot has dedicated her career to the transformative power of education and the opportunities higher education presents for contributing to and bettering society. Throughout her 24-year experience as a faculty member and senior administrator, Dr. Huot has focused on academic excellence as her highest priority. Her work has been directed toward developing systems and programming that encourage and support student learning and success, along with preparation for active citizenship and meaningful careers. To her role as Keene State College President, Dr. Huot brings a vision that is informed by her experience as a first generation college student, a native of New Hampshire, and an educator with extensive background in public higher education. She believes passionately in the need for accessibility to higher education for all students and in the unique role, mission, and opportunities provided by institutions of public higher education.

About Keene State College’s 14th Annual Academic Excellence Conference

During this event, Keene State College students will present research they have conducted in conjunction with faculty. Student research findings and presentations cover a variety of topics, from theatre and dance, to Facebook addiction, to properties of square triangular numbers. This event brings together student scholars and their families, faculty and staff mentors, other members of the Keene State community, area legislators, system trustees, and members of the Keene community in celebration of academic research and other forms of scholarship. This year’s Academic Excellence Conference is sponsored by the Advancement Division, Associate Provost’s Office, Keene State College Parents Association, Keene State College Student Assembly, Lloyd P. Young Student Center, and Office of the President.
