Campus Safety Alert

Two recent incidents on the Keene State campus and several across the City of Keene have campus officials and the Keene Police and Keene Fire departments working together to raise awareness of safety concerns on the Keene campus.

The remnants of two bottle bombs have been found on the Keene State campus. Bottle bombs are constructed of common household substances that create a chemical reaction and allow pressure to build up causing the plastic bottle container to burst. No injuries have been reported as a result of the campus incidents.

“The campus is taking these incidents very seriously,” noted Jay Kahn, Interim President of Keene State. Kahn noted the increase in Keene Campus Safety patrols on campus and asks that any member of the campus community encountering any suspicious device to contact Campus Safety immediately at 603-358-2228. Anyone with any information on the campus or city incidents should contact Keene Police by calling 911 or by contacting Keene State Campus Safety.
