Pre-concert Talk w/ Professor Joseph Darby

The four composers represented (Bernstein, Gershwin, Rodgers, Copland) are among the leading twentieth-century composers in the fields of American popular music, musical theater, and concert music. Professor Darby will discuss their many contributions to American music and provide insights into the history of On The Town, Rodeo, Concerto in F, and Slaughter on Tenth Avenue. The lecture will feature websites and other useful sources of information so the audience can learn more on their own.

This lecture is free and open to the general public.
