Informal conversation with Dr. Sullivan about her book, "Good White People: The Problems with Middle Class White Anti-racism"

Shannon Sullivan is Professor and Chair of Philosophy at UNC Charlotte. She is author of Living Across and Through Skins: Transactional Bodies, Pragmatism and Feminism (Indiana UP, 2001), Revealing Whiteness: The Unconscious Habits of Racial Privilege (Indiana UP, 2006), and Good White People: The Problem with Middle Class White Anti-Racism (SUNY, 2014) and co-editor of three books including Race and Epistemologies of Ignorance (SUNY, 2007). While a professor at Penn State University, she was the 2012 recipient of the Dr. James Robinson Equal Opportunity Award for her demonstrated commitment and leadership enhancing the educational environment of the university by improving cross-cultural understanding. She currently is completing a book on the physiology of racist and sexist oppression.
