Rood sings Gilligan
Featuring Guest Artist Margot Rood, soprano, performing the works of Dr. Heather Gilligan. The recital will feature the world premiere of Living in Light, Gilligan’s new song cycle for soprano and cello based on poetry by Sara Teasdale. The concert will also include Dialogue, Gilligan’s award-winning work for solo flute; two song cycles for soprano and piano based on poetry by Shel Silverstein and Lisa DeSiro; a set of songs for soprano, trumpet, and piano, based on the poetry of William Blake; and a duet for saxophone and piano. Performers include Margot Rood, soprano; Sarah Brady, flute; Seelan Manickam, trumpet; Amanda Schwersky Paul, cello; Craig Sylvern, tenor saxophone; and Heather Gilligan, piano.
