Fall Faculty Recital

Redfern Arts Center - Alumni Recital Hall
Friday, · -

The Keene State College Music Department invites to you join us for an exciting variety of musical works at the November 8th Faculty Recital at 7:30 PM, in the Alumni Recital Hall, Redfern Arts Center on Brickyard Pond.

Performers include tenor and new faculty member Dan Carberg and soprano Diane Cushing, who will present vocal works by Henry Purcell and G. F. Handel with Maura Glennon at the piano. Glennon will also join colleagues Stephanie Jenkins in Debussy’s Première Rhapsody for Clarinet and Piano and Craig Sylvern in Pleasantries, a work by Michael Cunningham for Tenor Saxophone and Piano. Jenkins and Sylvern will then collaborate in Vexation/Flash, a fascinating work composed by St. Louis University faculty member Aaron Johnson.

Faculty members Cheryl and Jim Sharrock will perform a Waltz for English Horn and Piano by Elise Grant, as well as Francis Poulenc’s last composition, the Sonata for Oboe and Piano. The final work on the program will be the Wind Quintet by Robert Paterson, the founder and director of American Modern Ensemble. Flutist Robin Matathias, clarinetist Stephanie Jenkins, oboist Sue Henkel, bassoonist Joy Flemming, and David Miller on the French horn will perform this exciting composition. We hope you’ll join us for a special evening of terrific music!

Admission is $10 for the general public and $5 for KSC students, senior citizens, and youth ages 17 and under. Faculty & staff receive 1 complimentary ticket!
