Faculty Recital: Christopher Swist, percussionist and composer
To celebrate the release of his first solo CD in over 10 years, Christopher Swist is presenting a showcase recital of his compositions. Most of the works on the program are from the new CD entitled "Duality" which is being released the same week.
The concept of Duality, the blending and balancing of opposites, occupies a central component in Swist's approach to composition. Acoustic and electronic music will alternate and the evening will include performances by KSC music professors Marcia Lehninger, Heather Gilligan, Amanda Paul, and Craig Sylvern.
Christopher Swist will also be performing some of his signature marimba solos. Along with Swist's original works there will be a brief abstract lecture by KSC's music history professor Joe Darby, who wrote the liner notes for the CD.
To request accommodations for a disability, please contact the coordinator at least two weeks prior to the event.
