Concert Band presents Something Old, Something New, Something Borrowed
The Keene State College Concert Band Concert, conducted by Dr. Jim Chesebrough, will be held in the Redfern Arts Center on Thursday April 25, 2013 at 7:30 PM in the Main Theatre. Tickets are $5/$10. The “Something Old” will be music from the Renaissance including Tielman Susato’s Battle Pavane. The “New” will be a world premiere of Amun-Ra by Keene State student composer, Josh Brennan, and the band’s “Borrowed” performance is the “Hut of Baba-Yaga” and “The Great Gate of Kiev”- movements from Pictures at an Exhibition, a classic from the orchestral repertoire by Modest Mussorgsky. This work will be conducted by assistant conductor, Kirk Bobkowski (KSC’14), and assistant conductor, Kathryne Lundstedt (KSC ’14), will conduct Dusk by Steven Bryant.
