The Monadnock Biodiesel Collaborative, a research and educational model for waste grease recycling and emissions research, is a joint project of the College and the City of Keene.
The Early Sprouts program, a 24-week nutrition and gardening curriculum for preschoolers, originated at Keene State in 2006 to address the significant community health problem of childhood obesity. Early Sprouts engages preschool children and their families in a unique, healthy lifestyle-learning program centered on a working vegetable garden.
Keene State College's Pondside III residence hall recently received LEED® Silver Certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). LEED® is a rating system for designing and constructing the world's greenest, most energy-efficient, high-performance buildings. This was the first time Keene State chose to document its efforts for external review and certification through LEED.
