Traditional harvest altar at an overcrowded Regroupment Scheme (RPS) in
1992. Nowadays, the ceremony attracts a handful of tourists down the heavily
rutted unpaved road which leads to the settlement. It is one of the relics
of the pre-Islamic Malaysian religion which both Malay and lowland Perak
Semai used to practice (cf. Plate 21 in Williams-Hunt 1952:94).
