Biographical Sketch:
David Shannon is a well-known author and illustrator of children's
books. He attended the Art Center College of Design in Pasadena
California where he graduated with a fine arts degree. He has
provided the artwork for many book jackets and his editorial
illustrations have appeared in the New York Times, Time
and Rolling Stone.
Scope and Content Note:
The papers document the authorship, design and revisions by children's
author and illustrator David Shannon on
The Amazing Christmas Extravaganza. The revision to the fourth draft
is a revision of the final page of the manuscript
(Series 1, folder 5). David Shannon and Kathleen Westray designed
The Amazing Christmas Extravaganza. David Shannon was a presenter at
the Children's Literature Festival at Keene State College and
an original illustration from this book is part of the Festival
Gallery Collection at Keene State.
