Biographical Sketch:
M. E. Kerr (Pseud. of Marijane Meaker) earned a B. A. from the
University of Missouri, Columbia. She was a volunteer in a writing
program in New York City high schools, during which time she met
the girl who would become the protagonist of her award-winning
Dinky Hocker Shoots Smack! She has also won awards for other books,
such as Gentlehands, Little Little, and Night Kites.
Scope and Content Note:
The collection includes typed drafts with corrections, and
unbound signatures for the book "Hello," I Lied, along with
publisher's forms and correspondence and a copy of the book.
