|KEENE STATE TODAY||VOLUME XXII NUMBER 2 Winter 2007|
Kerry Fosher is a security anthropologist. In September, she leaves a position as a research assistant professor at Dartmouth Medical School to take a position as the command social scientist for Marine Corps Intelligence at Quantico, Va. She continues to serve as a research and practice associate at the Institute for National Security and Counter-Terrorism in the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and College of Law at Syracuse University. In 2006-07, she was able to take time away from Dartmouth to teach two classes in anthropology at Keene State.
Amy (Brooks) Balchuinas writes: "I am now married, and I have two young boys: Robinson is 4 and Isaac is almost 4 months. Last July, I married Steve Balchuinas, a longtime friend. Last December, we bought my childhood home from my parents. It's a wonderful little nine-room farmhouse on 100 acres of wooded land in central Massachusetts. I finished my master's degree in special education a few years back, but have decided to stay home while the children are little (it just goes by too quickly...). My husband works for a local concrete plant, and I stay busy with a direct sales business called At Home America (www.athome.com/amyb). It's a fun job, the pay is great, and I am able to be home with the kids. Someday I may go back to teaching, but the sales job is fun and rewarding, so I have decided to stay with this for a while. They sent us to Mexico for free, so the perks are awesome, too!! Heather Warren and Daryl D'Amore are the only KSC alumni I have stayed in touch with. Anyone who knew us in Keene shouldn't be surprised that we are still good friends! Are any of you guys out there: Karen (Miller) Gleba, Donny McNally, Jen Davidson, Roclyn Carey, Kelly Salter, or Craig McCauley?"
Andy Mills writes: "Here ye, here ye, Shawna rules!"
From Sean Morrissey: Hey! To those that remember me, how the heck are ya? I've lost touch with many old KSC friends (too many to mention), so if you remember me, e-mail me to say hello. I love being blown away by people from the past. I can't believe how old we are all getting. Time flies. Well, here is a quick update. I am still happily married to Jennifer (Burgess) Morrissey '92. We have two sons, Andrew (11) and Josh (9) and one daughter, Christen (6). We live in Scarborough, Maine. I own a small business that does custom medical bracing, and Jen is an accountant for a large medical company and works part-time. Kids are great. Life is good."
Kimmer (Slauenwhite) Gregg lives with her husband and 20-month-old daughter, Ava, in Stow, Mass. She is expecting her second child in June, and, therefore, will not be able to attend the class reunion. Kim stays in touch with Kristen Martin, Rachel Zinn, Stacey (Pinard) Canfield, JoAnn (O'Brien) Bejak, and Nikole (Koons) McDonald on a regular basis. However, she would love to hear from other Keene folks she has lost touch with and can be e-mailed at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Kathleen Roddy Stephan writes: "My family and I are now living in Dover, Del., after many moves around the country. I would like to get in touch with some Kappa Gamma girls. (How's PC 20?) It's been a long time. Henry and our three kids are doing well. He is flying for a corporate company out of Delaware now. We hope to be here for a long time. My e-mail address is email@example.com. I miss you all!"
From Nicole Perry: "Hi Everyone! Being our 15th reunion, I thought it appropriate to submit a note. I've been with the same company for about 9-1/2 years in the Hanover/Lebanon, N.H., area in Information Technology. Hypertherm, Inc., has been named New Hampshire's number one company to work for many times! I live in Vermont with my son, Jordan, who just turned 8, two Labrador retrievers, and a cat. I would love to hear from friends, especially Beth Mancuso. Drop me a line at firstname.lastname@example.org."
Karen Money-Parry writes: "My husband, Chris, and I welcomed our second child last summer. Allison was born in July and joined her 2-year old brother, Brendan, in our family. I am working as the director of special education for Becket Family of Services in New Hampshire and have been for several years now. I would love to hear from some of my student teaching buddies or HRX alumni."
From Roger Wilkins: "After living in Australia and then moving to New York City, Dannielle and I have had a great first five years. We have now moved back to New Hampshire and are preparing to stay for a while. Having connected with old friends like Dawn Deurell, it's nice to know that college buds are really never far. Thanks and best of luck to the class of '94."
Amy Lynn Woods has received the Milken National Educators Award and the most recent National Endowment for the Humanities Award.
Chris Blake writes: "I am trying to locate Matt McVicar. He can e-mail me at email@example.com."
Kim Franklin '96 writes that she was promoted to wealth advisor and trust officer of Charter Trust Company in Keene. She is currently a board member of the Keene Young Professionals Network and resides in Westmoreland, N.H., with her husband, Patrick '89, and their twin daughters, Kristin and Kayla.
From Scott Raymond: "I am currently in the process of purchasing a bed-and-breakfast with my partner in Claremont, N.H. It will be a bit of a departure from my career of graphic design, but I will still be able to use my skills in marketing that I learned from Keene State, which is what prompted me to write. I am thinking of having some sort of discount for Keene State students, alumni, staff, and parents if they wanted to stay at the B&B and mention Keene State when they book. Check out my website to see my design work, www.srdesigns.us."
Jennifer Zollner Borst got married on Aug. 12, 2006.
IN MEMORIAM: Diane K. Brigham '96, April 28, 2007, Jefferson, New Hampshire
From Kristen Cranson Nelson: "I recently was in contact with a great friend from my time at Keene State - Jen (Bond) Olivo. She found me in the back of Keene State Today! Thanks for sending out this book to alumni. Everyone should take the time to post his or her e-mail or home address so we can be in contact. It feels like home!"
Megan H. Fitzgerald writes: "My fiancé and I are purchasing an apartment in Brooklyn, N.Y. I work as an admissions counselor at City University of New York (CUNY) and attend graduate school at Baruch College. I used to work at Meridian Capital Partners, Inc., with Melyssa Wheeler '96. I have fond memories of Keene State and wish everyone well."
Jessica Vespia and her husband, Scott, bought a new home November 2006. Their daughter turned 2 in March 2007.
Kate DuGray Ells lives with her husband, Devin, and their two daughters, Merin and Quinn, in Swanzey, N.H. She teaches at Hinsdale Elementary School.
Pamela Everett Matthews writes: "I worked as a teacher for five years after graduating and was then hired as an administrator. I love my job. Now my daughter will be entering Keene State '07-'08."
