Marion Halladay Keef was delighted to receive a decorated pumpkin that Norma Walker '51 brought to her. Marion talked about her birthday party, which she had enjoyed. She was 103 and her son came from Rochester, N.Y., to visit her. Marion is very proud of him.
On a beautiful October day Cassie Haven Sweet was surprised when Norma Walker '51 arrived for a visit. Cassie had recently had a visit from her grandson and his new wife, who had come to Vermont because she had never seen the fall foliage. Cassie asked about her classmates Abbie Brown, Helen Kimball Houston, Catherine Moore, and Irene McNamara. Norma was able to give her news of each one.
Rosetta Brown Lowe enjoyed a tour of Sullivan, Marlow, Walpole, and Acworth, N.H., and Brattleboro, Vt. She was excited about being in Acworth because it was the town where she began her teaching career in 1927-1929. However, she didn't recognize many places because of the changes over the years. Rosetta had the opportunity to vote by absentee ballot. She is a very patriotic American. She received a letter from her longtime friend and classmate Margaret Grover Colburn. Would you believe they have corresponded regularly since 1927?
Mary Phelan Lane invited Norma Walker '51 for lunch when she came for a visit. Mary has many humorous stories about teaching in a one-room school in Stoddard, N.H., where she had eight grades. Mary and Norma shared information about people and places in Stoddard while enjoying their lunch.
