IN MEMORIAM: Filomena Romano Raich '24 died July 17, 2004, in Lebanon, N.H. She taught in Troy, N.H., and New Britain, Conn., and then in West Lebanon, N.H. until 1941.She earned a bachelor's degree at Columbia and master's degree at Boston University, and taught for many years in the Midwest before retiring as a school guidance counselor. 1926 Mildred Byrne of Milton, Mass., writes, "I enjoy Keene updates very much. Still hanging in there. Often think of grand times at college. I have 15 great-grandchildren." Mildred's granddaughter Katherine Wall Prouty '92 and husband James '92 are the proud parents of a daughter, great-grandchild #15. Mildred sent the following to be added to the Alumni Archives: a one dollar athletic season ticket for 1924-25; a 25-cent program ticket to see The Romances, presented by KNS students in Parker Hall; a 1926 commencement program with senior week activities; a copy of dedication exercises for the Harriet Lane Huntress dormitory on June 18, 1926; a KNS winter carnival ticket for March 7, 1925, and a scorecard for the men's basketball game (Keene won, 24-20). Eleanor Rowell Shaw attended her eighth Golden Circle Luncheon at the Cat 'n' Fiddle in Concord, N.H. She received a corsage and certificate of perfect attendance from Norma Wright Walker '51. Eleanor's son Carl also received a perfect attendance certificate for bringing his mother to the luncheons. 1927 Margaret Grover Colburn and Rosetta Brown Lowe have corresponded regularly since their graduation from KNS. They have watched each other's family grow and change through the exchange of photographs. It is wonderful to know that college friendships can last over 77 years. They are both lovely ladies. Our sympathy goes to Rosetta and her family on the loss of her son. 1928 Marjorie Sholes enjoyed having the June Golden Circle letter read to her. She is living in Franklin, N.H. Marjorie has many fond memories of KNS. She sent a photo of herself wearing her Golden Circle medallion. Keene has such beautiful alumni. Elizabeth Welch had a short visit from Norma Wright Walker '51 before setting up a schedule for a hospital stay. 1920s - 1930s - 1940s - 1950s - 1960s - 1970s - 1980s - 1990s - 2000s Weddings - In Memoriam - Highlights - Send in your news |
