Hope H. Langdon died in Boca Raton, Fla. She earned a master's degree at KSC and taught piano for many years and was a librarian at the KSC library. Harriet Cooper '25 passed away at 100 years of age on August 28, 2002. She was a talented art and mechanical drawing teacher. Eleanor C. Burns '26 died July 23, 2002, in Concord, NH. She taught in the Newport school system. She also worked at Gordon, Brampton, and Dartmouth woolen mills in Claremont. Beatrice Fairfield '26 passed away at her home in Dublin. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Dublin for 26 years. Georgiana Werner '26 died in June 2002 in New York City. She earned a master's degree at Boston University and was a teacher in Harlem. Bertha Wright Fenton '27 died September 17, 2002, in Franklin, N.H. She taught home economics at Pinkerton Academy in Derry and was matron of the Merrimack County Home. Edith McLeod Clinton '30 died Jan. 3, 2003, in Peterborough, N.H. She taught at Francestown (N.H.) Elementary School and was a member of the Peterborough Historical Society. Stewart D. Thompson '32 passed away July 17, 2002, in Exeter, N.H. He taught various grades in New Hampshire and high school in Bristol, Conn., and worked at Phillips Exeter Academy. Martin E. Heffernan '33, M'54 died November 2, 2002, in Meredith, N.H. He was president of his class at Keene Teachers College and served in the Pacific Theater in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He taught math in Hanover, N.H., and was superintendent of schools in SAU 2 for 18 years. Wesley Earle Dickinson '35 died on August 2, 2002, in Melbourne Beach, Fla., where he was recovering from a broken hip. His wife, Geraldine Davis Dickinson '29, predeceased him. Earle was an early member of Alpha Pi Tau. Catherine "Kay" Adamovich '38 died Aug. 4, 2002, in Claremont, N.H. She was an elementary school teacher for 41 years at West Terrace School, Claremont. Anna Arnell Hirst '42 died at her home in Ashland, Ore., on November 1, 2002. She taught elementary school in Antrim and Lincoln, N.H., and in Windsor, Vt. She also lived in the Chicago area and taught elementary school in Wisconsin. She was twice president of the Ashland chapter of the League of Women Voters. Una Silloway McKee '44 died June 17, 2002, at her home in Wolfeboro, N.H. She was one of 35 elementary majors who went out to teach in schools during their senior year and returned to summer school to complete their studies. She taught in the Claremont school system for many years. Ethelyn Starkey Oros '48 passed away in August 2002 in Keene. She was a home economics teacher at Lebanon (N.H.) High School, Keene Junior High School, and Keene High School for 37 years, retiring in 1991. Henry C. Mann '49 passed away August 16, 2002. Elton E. Beard '54, M'64 died October 30, 2002, in Lempster, N.H. He served with the U.S. Army's 10th Mountain Division during WWII and taught industrial arts at Sunapee and Monadnock Regional High Schools in New Hampshire and Mt. Desert Island High School in Maine. Gordon E. Gould '57 died October 31, 2002, in North Haverhill, N.H. He was a teacher in Proctor, Vt., and Raymond, N.H., and fire chief in Raymond. Gerald "Jerry" Britton '65 died in July 2002 in Windsor, Vt. He was a teacher and administrator for 12 years, and later owned and operated a dry cleaning, laundry, and diaper service in Windsor. Helen C. Wills '74 died in Keene, N.H. In the 1940s and 50s, Helen was assistant production editor of House and Garden, publicity director for Wilson Hall Museum at Dartmouth College, and the first woman to have a column in the Daily Dartmouth. Her articles appeared in New Hampshire Profiles, the Keene Sentinel, the Valley News, and the Lewiston (Maine) Journal. She was fashion editor at Yankee and in charge of the Peterborough Players theater programs. From 1956 to 1976, she was editor of People of Precision, a history of MPB Corp. in Keene. From 1964 to1968, she edited the Dartmouth Medical School quarterly. Mary Jane Perry '75 died November 9, 2002. Richard Arvo Heikkinen '77 died in Claremont, N.H., in December 2001 on his 30th wedding anniversary. He was the husband of class secretary Maureen Beaulieu Heikkinen '66 and an avid runner and computer consultant. Kristi Rae Severson '91 passed away on July 30, 2002. She was an accomplished writer and published poet. Receiving her teaching certification from the University of Texas at San Antonio, she became a language arts teacher for the San Antonio Independent school district, most recently at Davis Middle School. Michael J. Rule '97 died October 29, 2002, in Boston.
