Class Notes 1990

Kelly Leighton is married and has two girls, 6 and 3. She writes, "We just recently moved to Rhode Island, after living in Brussels, Belgium, for three years. I would love to hear from Grace-Ann Crupi, Lisa Salinger,
Charlene Gallant, and Bob Whitfield
."

From Lauren: Greetings Class of 1990! Last October I got the chance to catch up with many friends from our class at the wedding of Patricia Ann Cahill to Kevin Steeley. It was held in Fairfield, Conn., and not only was it a beautiful affair, but it was tons of fun, too. I was honored to be one of Patty Ç's four bridesmaids, along with Nancy Gish Casella (one newborn son Max with husband Rich), Beth Hall Strapp (one daughter Caroline with husband Chris), and Lisa Laskowski. As a gift to us, Patty gave us all a KSC hooded sweatshirt, quite an appropriate gift since our decade-long friendship began there!

Gaby Lombardi and Jackie Lenahan came to the wedding, both very happy living and working in NYC. Jolie Hinnendael came from Boston, where she is living and working and sees KSC alumni all the time (she often goes out with Catherine Coggins '89). Leslie Caulfield and husband AJ (two sons, Jay and Parker) and Lisa Connelly Rose and her husband George (daughter Gracie and son Jack) tore up the dance floor! It was just like old times (without the basement smell of beer) – we all spent most of our time by the bar or on the dance floor, where we were treated to a late night Garth Brooks serenade performed by Chris and Beth. Speaking of dancing, despite a broken foot (suffered at the bachelorette party, which is a story for another time) Patty danced beautifully with Kevin all night. Shortly after the honeymoon, the Steeleys moved to NYC.

I also heard from Sandy Diggins Schoen. She and husband Chris Schoen '89 have a daughter, Alexandra, and live in New Hampshire. Emily Donaldson Williams, husband Joe, and daughter Libby live in Boulder, Colo. John Hughes '89 and Ruth Catanzaro Hughes live in Maine with their two sons, Ben and Jack. Matt and Anname Hussey Logan live in Westport, Conn., with their daughter Mae.

My husband, Matt Griffin, and I just had a baby girl, Kyra, and her big brother Connor is thrilled to finally have someone he can be boss of. If I have forgotten anyone, please forgive me, I am so lucky to still have great friendships made at KSC. Any news you would like to share, please let me know!

1991

From Karen: Hi everyone! Well, despite a recent drought in "big studio" filmmaking in New England, a couple of projects landed here during the fall months, and I was fortunate to work on one of them: the new Julia Roberts film, Mona Lisa Smile. I spent a week at Wellesley College and divided my days between craft service and the rigging grip crew (a strange combination if you're familiar with film crews), so one day I was putting together a lovely presentation of snacks and coffee, and the next I was putting together acres of scaffolding and lighting equipment. I had a great time (and I even spoke with Ms. Roberts briefly). My other recent pursuits include returning to my theatre roots at The Music Hall in Portsmouth, N.H., and working at a local pottery. I look forward to hearing from more of you in the future, and seeing people at Reunion weekend.

Steve DeMarco got married in November 2002. He is residing in Queens, N.Y., with his wife, Mishella Angelillo. Steve just departed IBM after six years as a finance manager to work as principal transportation planner for New York City Transit in the vicinity of Ground Zero. He can be reached via email at stdemar@nyct.com.

Joe Cabaup writes, "I'm back at Hitchiner Mfg. Co. in the non-destructive testing department and I'm studying for level II certification in radiography and fluorescent penetrant inspection. I already have my level II in magnetic particle inspection. I'm heading back to school for computer programming and engineering. I'm still coaching Judo but I've had to stop coaching Nordic skiing, too much in too little time as Judo and skiing have coinciding seasons. In 2000, I took seven juniors to the Junior Nationals in Charlotte, S.C. (www.nhjudo.netfirms.com), so I am concentrating on Judo. My newest 14-year-old is 6'4" and 222 pounds and shows quite a bit of natural talent. I can't wait to see the faces at the next tournament when we show up." Joe's wife, Jen Houle Cabaup '96, is at Summit Medical Group and received her medical coding certification. They have two children, Katie and Jonathon. Joe's new email address is joecabaup@adelphia.net.

Julie Daileanes Anderson and husband Ryan had a baby boy on March 6, 2002. Julie now teaches third grade in Brookline, N.H., and she and her family moved to Milford, N.H.

IN MEMORIAM: Kristi Rae Severson '91 passed away on July 30, 2002. She was an accomplished writer and published poet. Receiving her teaching certification from the University of Texas at San Antonio, she became a language arts teacher for the San Antonio Independent school district, most recently at Davis Middle School.

1993

From Robert Blanchard: "I have been living in Colorado for the past eight years where I work for the Aspen Skiing Company as a system analyst. I was married June 30, 2001, to Sarah C. Smith of Lyme, Conn. In our free time we enjoy mountain biking, hiking, camping, jeeping, snowboarding, and spending time with our dog Arnie. I would love to hear from any of the old graphic design crew."

1994

From Bill Clark: "My wife, Amy, and I just celebrated the 1st birthday of our daughter, Madison Mae, and thankfully she is looking more and more like her mother each day. We celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary at the end of August. Amy and I are both still working at the Mayo Clinic up in Minnesota and both have been the recipients of recent promotions. I am now a respiratory care clinical specialist. As usual it would be great to hear from old classmates; you can email me at clark.william@mayo.edu."

Corey Littel, wife Beth, and daughters Gabrielle, 3, and Jessica, 1, live in Virginia Beach, Va. He is a lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, working as an aerospace physiologist for the East Coast F-14 and FIA-18 fighter jets. "Many hours of flight time and several trips to U.S. aircraft carriers make the job very exciting," he says.

Roger Wilkins of Manchester, N.H., announces that he and Dannielle Davies of Canberra, Australia, were married Dec. 28, 2001, at the Christmas Farm Inn in Jackson, N.H. They spent their honeymoon in NYC and depart for Australia at the end of this year. Dannielle is a family law lawyer, and Roger is a political consultant; he recently worked on Senator Bob Smith's reelection campaign. Says Roger, "I would like to say hello to Paul, Greg, Jessica, Norma, Dawn, and the rest of the gang. We had great times and I wish you all a wonderful life and hope all is well."

April Bastiani is working as a project management/operations coordinator for a large construction firm in Westchester County, N.Y., and living in Nyack, N.Y. She would love to hear from any of the Phi Sig girls, as well as Chris Kulbe, Brian Fraser, and Dave Koch.

Lydia Dunn of Vale, N.C., writes, "I was voted Teacher of the Year for West Lincoln Middle School this year! I was pretty proud, as I have only been teaching there for two years. It's a small school, way out in the country, and the kids are really good kids. I was honored!"

From Peter McLaughlin of Merrimack, N.H.: "I married Catherine Hodgdon on June 29, 2002, in Hollis, N.H. Tom Lynch '92 was my best man and Mark Fancy '96 was a groomsman. We had our honeymoon in Fort Lauderdale and the Bahamas."

1996

From Karen: Greetings to everyone! We hope you all had a great summer, great fall, and great holidays. We had busy ones, with Lukas now running everywhere and wanting to enjoy the outdoors. He is following in his father's footsteps already! We had a great visit home to New England and had fun entertaining people in our Virginia home over the summer. We were home for Christmas and had a chance to see quite a few of our friends and family and let Lukas experience the holidays among them, too. Please write with news to print. Hello Sandi and Jeannie and Laurel. Great to hear from all of you!

From Joanie Croeber: "I got married on July 3, 2002, to Erik Ormberg. KSC alumni who were in the wedding party included Karen Kicza Bishop and Elizabeth Finch Giza '97. Other KSC alumni who attended (and forgive me if I forget anyone!) included Leigh Berger, Tanya Teeboom Ackerman, Brenda Menzies Chretien '95, Tom Chretien, Dave Bishop '95, Scott Giza '97, Kristina Kostiew DiGaetano, Holly Gress, Denyelle Potter Klayton, Jennifer Balfour, and Jason Belvea. Erik and I are currently living in Franklin, Mass. I am in my fifth year teaching kindergarten in Southborough, Mass., and am finishing my master's degree in literacy and language. My husband is a guidance counselor and football coach at Medfield High School. We would love to hear how others are doing and can be reached at weebles14@rcn.com. Best regards to all!"

From Brenda Sepanek: "Just wanted to drop a note and say I finally got out of New England and now live in San Diego, Calif. I have been here two years and live two blocks from the beach. I am a graphic designer and plan on attending school in September to study web design. I was very fortunate to run into fellow KSC alumni upon my arrival in San Diego, considering I had never been here before and didn't know anyone. I showed up to my first softball game and Brendan Huffman was on my team. Brian Murphy and Will Prichet are also out here. The three of them work together. I was very thankful to be welcomed into their group. I still keep in touch with a few of my softball teammates, like Sue Barassi Fogarty '94 and Jen Mullen '94. And Katje Mickola '97 has visited. Hey Marni, if you're out there, would love to hear from ya. You too, Annie. To all my old pals, drop me a line or email me if you're ever out in the San Diego/LA area. 858-483-3616 or bsepanek@hotmail.com.

From Deb Clogher: I want to invite the Class of 1998 to come out in force to celebrate our 5-year Reunion! Even if you didn't graduate, we'd love to have you join us! Time passes by so quickly that it is time for all of us to catch up. Reunion weekend is May 30 – June 1. Put it on your calendar and plan on being there. I just had Adam Wade perform his comedy show for the students at Montclair (N.J.) State University and he got rave reviews! Adam looks forward to seeing all of you at Reunion too! There are many people who made our days special at KSC. I recently found out that "Barb and George" Blackmeir have left their positions at the Dining Commons, as swipers extraordinaire, to spend more time with their family. Barb and George, thank you so much for your kindness and George's good jokes! You really are wonderful and your KSC spirit is appreciated! Miss you guys!
