A wonderful classmate, Doris McConnel Thompson, makes her home in Bristol, Conn. 1931 Claris Head Lacey sent a beautiful card to Norma Wright Walker '51, who says was so nice of her to take the time. Harriet Richardson Ames really enjoys living at Havenwood because she can play bridge on Monday and Friday afternoons. Last fall she was honored by Paula Davidson at the New England Reading Association annual banquet in Lowell, Mass., for encouraging Paula over the years. Harriet was so excited. Harriet also enjoys the awesome library at Havenwood, which has many large-print books that she can read. Dorothy Ingham is busy with all the activities where she lives. She enjoys hearing news from the Alumni Office and Keene State. 1932 Charlotte Davison Hamm and Olive Ames Edmunds never miss sending a holiday card to Norma Wright Walker '51. They keep in regular contact. 1933 From Beulah Perkins Thayer: "I will be 95 on May 4, and I am amazingly healthy. The secret is to keep busy and active. I have three grown children, nine grandchildren (seven are married), and, best of all, 16 great-grandchildren." Frances Shaughnessy enjoyed the Golden Circle luncheon held at Stuart and John's in Westmoreland, N.H. She shared a memory of her days at Keene Normal School. Marion Knuckey Pauling has passed away. Her classmates are saddened by her death. She attended several Golden Circle gatherings. Nathalie Scott Tisdale enjoyed a visit with Norma Wright Walker '51 and her husband. From Charlotte D. Hamm: "I am currently living at Acacia Village, a Masonic core community in Utica, N.Y. I live independently in my own apartment and use a walker to go to the dining room. I use a cane to go walking, but I walk unaided in my apartment. I was recently hospitalized on oxygen, but I'm now breathing on my own." Sheldon '33, November 13, 2006, Nashua, New Hampshire IN MEMORIAM: Olive Milligan Smith '33, December 31, 2006 1934 Ruth Nelson Towle writes: "I am now living in the retirement center Bishops Glen in Florida." Much sympathy goes out to the family of Alice Sperry Drake, who passed away on August 4, 2006. Her son Bill wrote that she lived a happy and full life. Barbara Auderer Goodridge celebrated her 93rd birthday. She celebrated with the Golden Circle luncheon at Heritage Heights. Robert Girard lived at the home of famed Clarence DeMar. They ran together in the 1934 Boston Marathon. Mr. DeMar was also a member of the Keene Normal School faculty. IN MEMORIAM: Alice Sterry Drake '34, August 14, 2006, Dover, New Hampshire IN MEMORIAM: Pauline Wilder '34, May 9, 2007, Concord, New Hampshire 1935 Louise Tewksbury Bennett enjoys receiving cards and letters from the Alumni Office. Alberta Patch Slegailis lives in Surf City, N.C. She sent Norma Wright Walker '51 a beautiful card with a New England scene. She is glad of her move to escape snow plowing and traveling on icy roads. IN MEMORIAM: Ada Perkins Simmons '35, May 12, 2006, Cleveland, Tennessee 1936 Trudy Emerson Carmichael still lives alone in Nashua. Last April she went to West Palm Beach to celebrate her 90th birthday. Trudy would like to attend the Golden Circle gatherings but doesn't drive. Ferne Coffin Fogg and her daughter Judy went to Globe, Ariz., to visit with family. She was looking forward to spending quality time with them. IN MEMORIAM: Madeline P. Knight '37, Belfast, Maine, January 20, 2007 1938 Blanche "Scottie" Smith and her husband Erville, of Concord, N.H., were honored as Forest Society Volunteers of the Year in June 2006. Members of for 45 years and volunteers for eight, the Smiths are great ambassadors for the society. Marion Truell Sabin keeps busy working part-time with a coconut candle crew and keeping an eye on her 6-month-old and 3-year-old granddaughters. 1939 Ruth "Bunny" Barry Dodge writes: "We are still fortunate to maintain reasonably good health. We still spend six month in York Beach, Maine, and six months, in Palmetto, Fla. We play lots of golf in both places. In Florida, I now have several golds in the senior games. My husband and I have been married for 65 years in June." From Edith Foulds's daughter Diane: "My mother, Edith (Carrier) Foulds, graduated from Keene State with the class of '39. She's turning 90 in early October, and though she may not be able to get down to attend future class reunions, she would love to hear from surviving classmates as her birthday approaches. Could this note go out in a future issue in time for classmates to wish her a happy birthday before October? Her address is: Edith Foulds, 1510 Williston Road, Apt. 19, South Burlington, VT 05403."
