Class Notes 1925

IN MEMORIAM: Agnes Kane Hillock '25 died in December 2005 in New Jersey.

1926

A lovely long letter arrived from Mildred Curtis Byrne. She enjoys watching the Red Sox baseball games. Mildred was watching the television news for the results of one game and learned of the flooding in Stoddard, N.H., near where she grew up. In her letter, she listed some memories as a student at Keene Normal School and wrote that she has 18 adorable great-grandchildren. Thanks for your letter to your classmates, Mildred.

IN MEMORIAM: Eleanor L. Shaw '26 died Nov. 19, 2005, in Canterbury, N.H. She was a teacher and was also president of the Chichester Phone Company for 26 years before retiring in 1988. Eleanor has attended all the Golden Circle luncheons at the Cat 'n' Fiddle restaurant in Concord, N.H. She will be missed. Our sympathy goes out to Carl, her son, who always made sure she was at KSC gatherings, including Hart's Turkey Farm in Meredith last year.

1927

Margaret Grover Colburn also misses her classmate and dear friend Rosetta. They had stayed close since graduation. Margaret is glad she can still stay in her own home and takes daily walks as the weather permits.

IN MEMORIAM: Rosetta Brown Lowe '27 died Sept. 28, 2005, in Townshend, Vt. She was a teacher in Vermont and New Hampshire for many years and retired as principal of the Jamaica (Vt.) School. Our sympathy goes to Rosetta's family. She had become a special friend to Alumni Director Mike Maher '72 and Norma Wright Walker '51 . They had visited many times and Rosetta and Norma exchanged letters several times a month.

1928

Imogene Barnum Magison was delighted to receive a Halloween card from Norma Wright Walker '51 . She had a bad fall in August and broke her hip and spent time in a rehab hospital. She is making progress and is now using a walker.

Marjorie Sholes retired from teaching in the Franklin, N.H., school district. She now lives in Concord. Her friend, Eleanor Moore, keeps us in contact with Marjorie.

IN MEMORIAM: Dorothy Burbank Barnaby '28 died Oct. 31, 2005, in Franklin, N.H. She earned a master's degree in education at Harvard University in 1938 and taught English, history, and social studies in Arlington, Mass., for 36 years. She was also the girls' guidance counselor for more than a decade. She later worked for a computer business in Austin, Texas, for nearly 20 years.

IN MEMORIAM: Marion Wentworth Browning '28 died Oct. 29, 2005, in Concord, N.H. She taught in Candia, Gilmanton, and Hooksett, N.H., and was a welder in an ammunitions factory during WWII.
